That’s the problem I have with it.
You can start games with 6 non-town at the start in a 16p.
If Butler isn’t rolled it requires a lynch to get rid of, which is a lot to expend as games are in endgame by d5 usually
I know, I probably am just salty because I am seeing the (tol) feedback often trying to be dominated by people who haven’t played ToL in months (not especially related to this here)
we are usually referring to fol balance, i wouldn’t touch tol balance with a 10 foot pole as i haven’t played in years

King is pointless after the removal of trials, decide fate was the only interesting part of it. As it is right now the king is just needless rng that makes the game harder to balance.
King always was rng. Just try to bring points why is it for forum reasons a problem (since it’s definitely not a problem in tol)
Or just lynch him when all other scum are dead. It would be always BD’s fault when they would have to rely on King in order to pull a win.
Random scum doublevoter who is a lost wolf is not very threatening early game and thus i wouldn’t say this is a main issue here.
Alright to people who say executing an evil king isn’t worth it.
First off, have you ever considered that the fact that the evil king managed to get to end game to have enough power to give majority to scum is the problem with your play in the first place.
You all say that leaving him alone and executing actual scum is more worth it but there are other power roles to deal with those scum. There are not power roles that counter the king votes besides the butler but we aren’t talking about that right now.
The fact that the evil king is such a powerful social role should be enough motivation to lynch him if you think he’s evil, especally if you have a BD who can then provide a double vote for town and guard people where the evil king wouldn’t have stopped any attacks for obvious reason.
You executing enough BD means that the scum were in control of the game. And the evil king is at the top of the control center

I have played enough forum mafia to know what is a balanced setup, what is a balanced role, and how to improve a role. That is why I’m on a reviewer team here. If I didn’t know what I was talking about I wouldn’t be on it. I’m taking a look at people’s complaints about evil king and finding the issue and it’s the fact that people aren’t willing to touch him. At first, I thought it was because the punishment then I realized they were doing it for other mechanical reasons.
I was skimming this game and wasn’t paying much attention to what was happening here. I can look st your posts now and see what they look like to tell you what I think of it

Hey priestess, question. Do you care about how you open your first post when you are scum. I know you are town here but I’m wondering if that is a way to see if you are scum or town.
Eh, I’m trying to play the same way as town and as scum, there are definitely clues to my class and alignment, but most of them are not intentional. But I’m not so sure about it. Ask some of the people who actually can read me, like Arete or Kape.
I mean, since Priestess died my intuition tells me Kai is Neutral Killer with K/O check on him.
It was also bad play on Kai’s part that he occupied me N2 when I said I was going to check him on for alignment.
But Warlock takes priority.
I think I have a better idea on how to read you now. It’s weird, I feel like I just changed modes from thinking about a lot of things at once to deeply thinking about something
Word of advice. As paradoxical as this statement will sound it’s more true then anything. Don’t try acting town as mafia as you aren’t town
