[FoL] FoL23 - Day 4 - The Unseen and the Fool win!

Anyone pressuring you for reads right now is kinda stupid and scummy imo.

It’s day 1 it’s not even been 24 hours, of course sog would have to force out reads if they made them.

So stop asking new people for reads forcing someone to make reads doesn’t help them.

If your going to force someone your not going to get any genuine information and the reads would only exist based on them being worried about being lynched so they have to regurgitate other reads and popular thoughts.

What do you recommend people do?

I’d just like to point out that it’s Teleology’s first FoL match and she’s given us several legitimate-seeming, well thought out reads. Arguably newbies are better to ask for reads, since newbscum are likely to be substantially worse at faking reads, making them easier to identify.

I do think it’s reasonable to put less pressure on newbies for their reads being “bad.”

No I’m saying to force reads in general.

On one hand, I kind of agree with Soul because my first scum read that I felt I had to do was absolute garbage, but on the other hand I feel like asking people to scum read is a good indicator to tell if they are willing to participate and contribute to the conversation – which helps reveal their alignment

It’s generally a bad thing to do if someone wants to make reads let them make reads, forcing things from people doesn’t get a genuine response.

Is soul new as well or no just wondering

Nope. ;/

You also have pretty good reads D1 in your first game if I’m not mistaken, Arete.

I also haven’t seen pressure on anyone to make reads except maybe SirDerps (and that’s because he made a slip). Not asking new players for reads completely stunts the progress of the game; D1 is not a useless day. This is the day we ready our toolkits to win the game as quickly as possible.

Just don’t play a lot of Fm
I’ve been in about 4 fols scattered through the years

I mean, it was technically my second game (I was in a Chaos FoL that got canned after like two days that I barely participated in because I was unexpectedly busy due to school), and plenty of my reads were wrong. On the other hand, they were enough to basically confirm me as BD, which I think helped make sure people believed me when I outed my check on Alice.

From what iv seen so far, pressuring people to make reads seems pretty important, especially day 1. With not much else to work off of, it almost seems like a waste to not make reads day 1.

(also yes this is very diff from what I thought at the beggining, but I was still treating it as a ToL game, after watching for a bit I realize it cant be treated the same)

Everyone makes wrong reads. Wrong reads aren’t necessarily a bad thing; its where the read is coming from that tells you what a players alignment is. Like you said…they confirmed you.

I don’t care about getting right or wrong reads from a new player because I’m not looking at that. Wrong reads is a lot better than no reads.

Is there anyone you think is likely to be evil?

Right now? My top would be soul, and lymph

Arete’s been pushing and getting defensive like crazy, so I’d recommend watching them tonight.

And whys that? just curious.

If you have a reason to suspect someone you should at least share honestly.

Thats a read are you sure you want to ask that after saying people are scummy for asking them /s
