I agree, tone has perhaps not been bad from Lymph, although most else has been.
Tone is often the hardest element for me to read.
What kind of tonal shift?
have you seen a prior game interaction, perhaps in a previous match, where Lymphoma had a noticeably different tone?

It could be town indicative, or it could just be the way they talk
I think the key difference from bd and evils is that bd plays for other people so they aren’t as worried about getting attention as much as evils are because even if they get lynched it can still lead to a positive outcome in reads.
But that being said a confident scum will mimic this and use it to there advantage, that’s why scum reading is generally harder for someone like me who gets confused on someones true intent.
Truly looking at the intent is the only viable source in my heart, but it’s also good to look at past assessments of players.

Lymphoma is a newbie so if they were actually scum, I probably may have rattled them at least a bit. Obviously, I didn’t.
Yeah generally the same but I could see scum mimicking town at times, just best to look where there intent slips up or doesn’t follow.
I have never seen them so I’m guessing?
