[FoL] FoL23 - Day 4 - The Unseen and the Fool win!

It is horrible to do that. Ever.

Why?

My understanding is that FoL in general is less big on claiming, at least until sometime in midgame.

Fol is more based around reads and interactions then night actions.

I don’t actually know, I’m just repeating what was explained to me when I joined.

A lot of his posts from RM3 at Day 1 seem pretty useless

And then he started using a bunch of ISOs

It’s because scum can make plans to destroy BD

Ah. I mean my class isn’t very important, I would claim it D1 in ToL TBH. That’s why I asked

FoL is not a mechanically dominant game like ToL. It’s forum mafia, and like all other forum mafia games, it is post analysis and social deduction dominant. Scum have powers here that they never could have in ToL, but with the right analysis, BD may also find scum on day 1.
It’s a much more methodical and analytical experience. It always is.

I’m going to be honest, I trust you all, but it’s still really weird to me just how different the attitude towards information is here compared to there.

you never want to give information to scum when you can avoid it.

i’m not the best at explaining why it’s bad to give information here unlike ToL
a more seasoned veteran could probably give a better explanation

Okay that makes sense. Thanks

Why do people townread this?

I see copious amounts of shade and weak analysis to go with it.

likely laziness
and also because he is the king
which in it of itself adds its own element

Gets everyone every time

I don’t really know how to describe it well enough, but basically you can see the effect of claiming early in SFoL 48

i hadn’t iso’d him yet. if i had seen THAT iso, my town read of him would have gone out the window.
Still in a pathfinder session.

You can’t mechanically confirm players nearly as easily
Claiming just makes the Prince hunt significantly easier for scum
