Joke answer: NK hunting is intrinsically scummy

Serious answer: NKs are in a weird spot where they’re sort of in between scum and town, like they’re (obviously) survivalistic as all hell due to their win condition but (unlike groupscum) they can make a serious attempt at scumhunting. In my personal NK game (EFoL 3) I was trying really hard not to do things that I thought might be perceived as scummy and if you’re looking for it it bleeds through in my post

Serious answer part 2: we need to either lynch the NK really early, or lynch them after most to all of the groupscum have been eliminated (modulo Cult vs. Unseen conversion differences). The worst possible thing we can do is lynch the NK on like D4 with no groupscum dead.

Yep.
But, they’re kinda stuck between a rock and a hard place. They have their own agenda to push. They need scum cover, so from their own reads, they’ll have to be more careful of their D1 behaviour
