PoisonedSquid has been executed. She was…

The Mastermind :crossed_swords: :shield:

Unseen Special
Can’t Touch This (Passive) - Immune to death at night, occupation and target changing. You will know if someone tries to occupy you or change your target. During the first day, you may choose a non-unique non-Killer Blue Dragon class to mimic. You will inherit one of their day abilities and one of their night abilities of your choice, alongside appearing as that class to any investigative abilities.
Dose (Day) - Target player is occupied for this day. - 1 Use
Dirty Work (Day) If there are no more Unseen members left, you can become The Assassin at the beginning of the night. - 1 use
Mix Rooms (Night) - Target 2 other players. Redirect all players targeting either of your targets to the other. You will be seen visiting your first target only. This cannot target the same player twice in a row. - Infinite uses
Convert (Night) - Change target player into the Unseen version of their class. If you have failed to convert a target twice already and your next conversion would fail it will instead target a random convertible player. - Infinite uses, 1 night cooldown
Your objective is to defeat the Blue Dragon and any neutrals that seek to do you harm.

Day 3 flavor

“Good news, your – Your Majesty,” said a guard, dragging a stranger in a purple cloak in chains before the new King. “We think we’ve found one of the conspirators.” She shoved the stranger to the ground at the King’s feet.

They glared at the King. “That’s an awfully loaded way to say ‘liberators,’” they said.

Amelia looked up from her writing, thinking for a moment that she recognized the voice before catching on to a slight difference in pitch. The stranger pulled the edge of their hood back and met Amelia’s eyes for a moment, furrowing their brow slightly, before looking away. Amelia swallowed. If circumstances had been slightly different, that could have been her friend on the ground.

The stranger forced themself to their feet and turned towards the rest of the court. “I don’t deny the factual accuracy of the accusations against me,” they said. “But I call on all of you to consider whether you can truly say I acted wrongly.” They paused for a moment. “All of you trusted me, but there was a reason for that. I care about this kingdom, and it’s obvious. King Gypyx might have been able to fake virtue, but he couldn’t fake genuinely caring about the subjects of this kingdom.” They glanced at Amelia and raised their eyebrow slightly, before looking away again.

Possessed stood up. “No, that’s wrong!” he said. “You say you’re trying to help us, but all you’ve done is kill innocent people. Maybe you have an issue with how the nobility treat the common people, but some of the people who’ve died haven’t even been nobility.”

“Do you think I’m happy about that?” asked the stranger. “I’m not noble-born either.”

“I mean, yes,” said DatBird. “No one just accidentally trips over their dagger and commits murder by mistake. You planned this, you orchestrated this, and we will make sure that you pay.”

As the stranger was led away to their execution, Amelia sat shaking at the table where they were working, trying to force her face blank.

“What’s wrong?” asked Jgoes.

Amelia shook her head. “It’s nothing,” she said, imagining herself in the Mastermind’s place. “Don’t worry about it.”

“It’s obviously not nothing,” said Jgoes. Their eyes widened slightly. “–Oh.

Amelia froze. “What do you mean?” she asked.

Jgoes leaned towards her, pointing towards something Amelia had written on her paper. “Meet me outside my chambers tonight,” he whispered, then added, more loudly, “so that’s how you would record this particular accusation in your ledger.”

Amelia nodded, and tried not to think of what would happen if she were ever discovered.

The sun rises over Adiart as you discover that two more bodies have been found!

“Why did you want me to meet you here?” asked Amelia, as she stared at the flickering flame of her candle.

Jgoes glanced down the hallway. “Come inside,” they said, beckoning her inside.

Amelia followed them into their room. Inside stood her friend, her hood pulled back for the time being. “Hello, Amelia,” she said, forcing a smile.

“Um, hi,” said Amelia. “Why am I … here.”

Jgoes sat down on their bed, folding their hands in their lap and bowing their head. “Amelia, we – I – need your help,” they said.

Amelia looked back and forth between the two of them. “What’s happening?”

Amelia’s friend bit her lip. “Jgoes here needs to get out of the castle, and there aren’t very many people we can conceivably ask for help,” she said. “To be clear, they’re not – they’re not involved with any of the conspiracies, but --”

“But I helped pass messages containing ‘rebellious sentiments’ between the castle and the rest of the kingdom,” said Jgoes, “and the laws don’t make a distinction between committing treason by killing the King and committing treason by letting people speak their mind.”

Amelia frowned. “What do you need me to do?” she asked. “I – Jgoes you know I care about you – but I’m not going to kill someone --”

Amelia’s friend shook her head. “There are enough deaths in this castle without your intervention,” she said. “Besides, I wouldn’t ask you to bear that on your conscience.” She paused. “Just – if you can distract people for long enough that Jgoes can get past the guards, that’s all we need.”

Amelia looked at Jgoes. “Do you think I’m ready?” she asked. “To – to be the only scribe in the throne room?”

Jgoes nodded. “I knew this might happen,” they said. “I tried to make sure you were ready. I can’t promise you I succeeded, but – I did my best.” They paused. “And – if you do decide you want to help liberate the kingdom, a lot of what I taught you doubles as a way to help you pass messages.”

Amelia closed her eyes. “I’ll do it,” she whispered quietly.

Amelia counted her breaths as she waited for the right moment. Sharing a hallway with two corpses had sounded easier when she had discussed it, hours before. She looked down at the bodies, one a young man who days earlier had stood before the throne room to accuse Braixen of treason, the other a middle-aged mead-seller. Neither of them were nobility, neither of them the sort of person that the Mastermind had declared her enemy the previous evening. She remembered noting down the way the young man had carried himself as he had delivered his accusation, and asking the mead-seller for directions on her second day working in the castle.

The candle she was holding burned past the mark she had carefully scratched in it. She paused for a moment, taking a deep breath. Once she did this, there was no chance she could go back.

“Help!” she screamed. “Someone please help! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa–”

She heard footsteps running down the hallway, and a guard appeared. “What’s wro-- oh,” said the guard. “–I’ll go get some of the others.”

Amelia breathed a sigh of relief as the guard turned back around the corner. This would buy Jgoes time to escape.

…And time for the Unseen to recruit more subjects to their conspiracy, she tried not to remind herself.
