FoL Interest Polls Thread

As Hippolytus suggested in the FoL January Changes thread, we’ve decided to create a thread for gauging interest for changes in FoL. If you have a suggestion for change, simply reply in this thread with your suggestion, and we’ll add a poll for it ASAP, so that you and other users can vote on what you would like to see changed in FoL. I’ll start off with an obvious one:

Should The Fool’s passive “Poor Fellow” be changed?

  • Change Poor Fellow
  • Don’t change Poor Fellow

0 voters

If “Poor Fellow” is changed, what should it be changed to? (Suggest additional options if neither of these is satisfactory)

Option 1, current ToL version:

Poor Fellow (Passive) - If you are executed before Day 4, the court will be unable to execute for the following two days, otherwise they will be unable to execute for one day.

Option 2, 1 day effect:

Poor Fellow (Passive) - If you are executed the court will unable to execute for one day.

Option 3:

Poor Fellow (Passive) - If you are executed by the court, those who accused you of treason will be unable to vote at all for the following day. Those blocked from voting do not count towards majority.

Option 4:

Poor Fellow (Passive) - If you are executed by the court, players who voted you to trial will be occupied that following night while they are in mourning and will swear off trials the next day (cannot vote).

  • Option 1
  • Option 2

New poll here.

Alternatively we could give hosts the ability to not put in Fool, because we don’t have to stick too closely to the game, but still call it standard.

For vanilla FoL I think it makes it easier if every game is generated in the same way, ie with no host input, as it’s already p complicated without worrying about which specific classes have been included this game.

We need stronger host oversight. IE: Just because a game ‘Rolled that way’ doesn’t mean it should happen.

IE: - Max 4 neutrals, with a max of two NKs. King counts as a neutral if Cowardly, Evil or Devout. If there are four neutrals or 2 nks, King is never evil or devout. If there are both 4 neutrals and 2 Nks, King is always BD

How are there ten votes to change Fool, but then 4 votes for Option 1?

Edit: Misread question lol

Also, Alternative ‘Poor fellow’ passive

“If you are executed by the court, those who accused you of treason will be unable to vote at all for the following day. Those blocked from voting do not count towards majority”

Ca we have a poll to remove masochist maybe? It’d be nice to see everyone’s opinion on it.

(I assume we can’t make our own polls or it would be a cluster fuck)

Remove? It’s literally untested

Have you never played with an Unjester/Joker before?

It’s not as bastard as the Jester, but it’s somehow less enjoyable.

And in a game with Prince, I imagine it will be even worse.

Option 3: Everybody who voted up the Fool will be occupied that following night because they were mourning and will swear off trials the next day (cannot vote).

Seems better imo

Eh, I’m not convinced. Sure, it can get a freelo win off Prince, but if fool is removed, you can’t just be scummy mcscummyson and win, as lynching makes you lose.

Since apparently I can’t change/add/remove polls on an existing post, I’ve made a new poll with the additional options.

Personally I would like to see it in at least one game before removing it, but I’ll put this here anyway in case this is a popular enough opinion.

Should Masochist be removed?

  • Yes
  • No

huh…

Interesting.

(Will my profile be too creepy?)

I’d like to see it actually in a game. I got a freelo with it before, and that’s not a good reflection in the game

While we’re at it…

  • Remove Fool
  • Keep Fool

Might as well see what we’re feeling imo

Also, while we’re at it, I should look at reworking the Kings.

Not a fan of their current implementation at all, in terms of deposing them. You basically can’t kill even the most obvious scum king for like two weeks.

Has a BD King ever been executed by a majority BD court?
