Fool should be convertible

Upon conversion, the Fool’s win condition can change to the scum team’s but his passive of prohibiting trials for only 1 day can remain since it helps evils anyway. 2 days is too powerful.

Add a passive for the Converted Fool that refreshes the cool down on the Mastermind’s Conversion so he can immediately convert somebody the following night after successfully hanging his teammate.

Obviously this means that only Unseen can convert the Fool, as the Fool would turn into a social Cult class and lose his passive and abilities.

I think a lot of interesting gameplay can come from having a convertible Fool. Once the Unseen Fool is hanged, people get suspicious of those who started the bandwagon, thinking they are Unseen that are bussing their own teammate.

There’s a lot of people who don’t like the Fool as it is a “bastard” role, but let’s be honest about ToL for a second – this is a “bastard game” as long as conversion is a thing. Stuff being bastard doesn’t mean it isn’t fun as hell. I say we go all in on the Fool train and see what happens.

Convertible Fools would also alleviate the “too many unconvertible classes” problem evils are suffering from right now.

Looking forward to @orangeandblack5 and @Moleland tearing this idea apart

… Fool shouldn’t be convertible. It just doesn’t work with the class goal. The class is meant to look suspicious… what a terrible class to convert.

I agree with the idea of fool being convertible but not with your ideas on what they become.

Before, poacher also had retribution, but lost it because it didn’t make sense to punish BD for correctly executing scum. The same should be for fool conversion.

This would also mean cult could convert fool, not just unseen.

By that logic please God have mercy and just get rid of Fool

I agree with that, fool should be gone, but if it will not, it should have a conversion

Eh

Making converted Fool still punish its lynch is an awful idea

Making it not punish its lynch means you just recruited a class that has been trying to look scummy

Then again now that I consider it that’s really the scum’s fault tbh

So I guess it might be okay-ish if it no longer wants to get lynched at all

Yes It would not want to be lynched.

It would mostly bring power to unseen in meta as blue dragon needs to dispose of the fool for chance of being unseen, and if have no killers left, they run the risk of having an unseen run free (that cannot be occ’d) but if they lynch they might be regular fool.

Oh shit that’s a powerful Fool buff you’re right

Consider the fact that unseen gain mostly nothing from converting a fool first, and realize it is balanced

personally I’d be cool with a converted fool, BUT NOT WITH an execution punishment.

Yeah their goal while fool is to get executed, but they don’t always jump out with that in the first 2 days, otherwise it appears obvious fool and gets exe’d on the spot. On the other hand a fool that hasn’t started out acting super sus and blatent in the early game, can often wind up basically becoming an obnoxious failed conversion bump… or worse a failed conversion bump followed by a wasted kill when unseen/cult assumes their inability to convert means it might be the prince.

My thoughts on a converted fool.

Prankster,
Keeps fireworks. 1 time frame someone else ability. 2 trollboxes.

While we’re at it for the love of god make it a unique class

oh my baby Mohammed

you do realize that they already decreased it to two max neutral socials? No need to further limit class list

Heh. This is a fun thread.

So if we get rid of Fool’s goal to get executed after conversion, he’d be alright, yeah?

If the scum team decides to convert a player acting scummy, that is on them.

Yes but this also buffs the Fool tremendously

Fool tends to win fairly often. At least if BD is POE killing.

Right

We don’t need more Fool wins

Alright fine. Y’all win :tada:

Scorned being convertible sounds fine, right?

yes I have said this for a long time but no one agreed until priest immune

Giving scorned and Alch more opportunities for wins is fine for to me.
