Forum of Lies 7 - Fool and Revenant Win

That was some clever sarcasm :stuck_out_tongue:

Honestly though Snap didn’t deserve like any of the shit he got.

He deserved a slap for rolling over and electing an unseen king

can we enforce a hosting rule where you have to get it right
it’s class not role
it’s occupy not roleblock
etc

I honestly didnt like Revenant. This game had all problems I envisioned for a Revenant game. Yes the revenant dies and cannot vote. But it can force a faction to kill its own important members, like a confirmed King, Prince… You can NOT kill Revenant by scumreading(normal way) you have to guess where it is. And thats bad enough for the Blue Dragon. If there is Cult, well they can sacrifice. But Unseen? Yeah, they can kill, but they simply cannot leave Revenant for later, they cannot lynch the revenant directly, they cannot kill the Revenant directly, and they have to pay a heavy price if the Revenant is in one of them…
I found the Revenant’s presence mainly bad of these reasons:

  1. When identified(so D2) you have zero chances to vote it itself.
2.You get mostly no clue whatsoever who revenant is except when it hits an immune and even then it could hide in it if it was known.
3.You might have to lynch a known BD power role(like Prince) if you are BD, hurting your own chances greatly with no way out-no herbalist or sth can stop Soul Link.
    Conclusion: Remove it.

Fade and I are working on a revenant rework

Well if you can rework it sure. Just please dont forget that sometimes an entire role concept is bad; in these situations you can only get rid of it for good.

Yeah thanks I love it when people tell me my ideas are shit

I certainly don’t love it either. But you know me you and everyone else, even very intelligent people sometimes have just a bad idea, and although I obviously dont love it: If people give me reasons why it is a bad idea in itself then I can accept that, and if I am convinced that they are right, then I scrap the idea. If I am not convinced, then I try to prove them wrong.
We all appreciate the work you brought into that, and you made good roles, but negative criticism is sometimes needed if we want to improve FoL.
And I have to say that I dont like the idea of a scum that is not directly lynchable and nearly undetectable when possessing others. And I do have some ideas how to make this less problematic: Extend the soulbinding time(e.g. 3 days minimum); remove the immunity piercing haunt and add an immunity piercing replacement of the Soulbound that turns you into the Spiritualist; make the ritual interruptible by attacks;
give the Soulbound a notice if their bond breaks; disallow forging a bond to someone after you switched away from them…

Pssshhhh Revenant is fun as hell tbh

I told you how to fix rev. It needs to choose 3 people the night it dies as spiritualist. It wins as long as it kills everyone except those it has chosen. It lives as long as at least one if the 3 it bonded to is alive. Funny how both rev games were a salt filled clusterfuck

you gave us an idea
you can’t say you told us how to fix it because your idea hasn’t been tested through gameplay

Semantics

We also need a community rules defining game throwing, and probably ban jesting. Sketch, frost and hippo have shown us how to play fool, so jesting shouldn’t be included as acceptable fool strategy.

Butler killed Psycho King?

I swear Psycho King is immune to Butler

You haven’t thought about that wine that kills Kings?

Psycho King is no exception that won’t risk Butler’s life.

It was agreed as before the game, cause exclusivly this game allowed for this game to start with different kings.

Basic rule of guilt is that if the target’s wincon doesn’t inflict on your faction’s wincon, you will get guilt from killing them

Mad King?
