This is a good place to get started.

Like all methods of reading, VCA is fundamentally a tool to be used, and requires a lot of work to be effective like all advanced methods of reading. The important things to note about it are:

  • It’s most effective after 2 EoDs, in the mid to late-game
  • It’s usually more effective to consider multiple votecounts than just one.
  • VCA reads are NEVER simplisitc.

True but I can observe to see how people use it to understand how it is probably used.

Base assumptions for VCA:

  • The middle of the wagon is usually where the wolves are.
  • Mislynch wagons are almost never pure.
  • Vanity wagons usually come from villagers, although it does depend on the player.
  • A wagon that dosen’t have a driving force pushing it is probably targeting a villager/lostwolf/neutral.
  • If there’s no major counterwagon, the main wagon is filled with wolves.

Remember most of all that VCA is not seperate from reads and the rest of the gamestate. Although these assumptions are accurate you have to consider how the VCA applies to the players who show up on it rather than arbitrary names that just happen to match players you’ve been reading by other methods.

It takes practise, that’s for sure.

It’s where you vote somebody because you think they’re wolf even though they’re never getting lynched that day. You’re basically voting for them for the sake of your vanity post-game when it turns out that you were right.

I did that too in games I was mafia and townread day1 reason my game got worse is because I had to check role to send night action

I’d describe that as a push rather than a vanity wagon. A vanity wagon is where you support the main wagon but you’re like “yeah but this guy’s a wolf lol”
