GI Discussion Thread

it fits so well tho

Personally, I think it would be funny if you edited the classcard to say “and the first 5 digits of your social security number if you were born before June 25th 2011” because that’s funnier

I doubt there are any 9 year olds on these forums

the next sentence will shock you

I dare someone to make a SSN class card on the GI thread

(do you want to know the real joke about that class i just posted)

pov: you are a nine year old on the throne of lies forums

hand of fate is based

(666-69-0420 is an impossible social security number. They don’t give out 666 as the first three digits.)

Though, if someone is 9, I wouldn’t judge them for their age. Likewise, they aren’t entitled to less moderation.

Side Side Note: It is only possible to have the first 3 digits of your SSN be 700 if you are either a railway worker or born after June 25th 2011. Why? Fuck if I know.

actually it’s even more specific than I thought.

You have to be either a railway worker between 1935 and 1963 or born after June 25th 2011 in order to have your first 3 digits of your SSN be between 700 and 728

What did change in 2011 anyway?

As a railway worker who was born in 1924 this infringes on my right to have a SSN starting with a number between 700 and 728

They changed the system to make SSN’s randomised. To be clear, this still isn’t secure at all; most businesses don’t waste time checking if a SSN has actually been given out, and there are no identifying digits, meaning that it’s actually painfully easy to just make up SSNs to create false identities

Also, why railway worker? Don’t you get your SSN at birth?

For the majority of people, though, you only need to know a tiny amount of personal information in order to logically gleam the exact SSN of somebody.
