Godcard: Another Time [Roleplay Thread]

she turns around

“yea, so?”

“And you… were listening in to my conversation.”

“I was drinking coffee”

“Right… you were. So the words ‘Olympus Library’ mean nothing to you, right…?”

Kaden’s white eyes are looking into Vashni’s

“Olympus Libray? never heard of it”

she checks the time

“I would love to stay and chat but I am running late as it is.”

she starts to run off again

“hmm.”

Kaden continues walking along

Kaden continues on, muttering even stranger things under his breath
“Damn… that was too obvious. I’m SURE that they heard me…”
“Any person I’m looking at could already be a security breach… Keep calm, keep calm…”
“Olympus Library next…”

Toby finally wakes up, overcoming a joint effort of apathy and procrastination. It was an early Friday morning, and it was to be like every other… or was it?
T: Ugh.
Toby did his morning routine, consisting of a mix of eating and washing.
T: Another day…
After he was finished Toby opened the door to see a package. Intrigued, Toby opens it to see two cards, A black and white one.
He sights the black card.
T: Osiris, huh.
T:…
He flips the card over.
T: Afterlife’s Eye… Is this some sorta game? For free, and I didn’t order it? That’s rad!
He looks at the white card.
T: Olympus Library… Have I heard of that before?
T: Ehh.
He turns the card over to see nothing.
T: Hm. I’ll put this white card away.
T: But this black card…
After closing the door, Toby excitedly ran towards his college.

Sitting in math, Jay can’t help but think about the odd encounter in the coffee shop and the black card sitting in his pocket.

J: *“That girl had a card as well… And the creepy stranger probably does as well… Maybe I should take a look?”

Jay secretly takes a peek at his card.

Speed Swimming: The cardholder is able to move faster than normal in the water

Jay’s eyes light up.

J: “Fantastic! I only hope this is real… My path to the Olympics is practically guaranteed if it is.”

Teacher: sternly “Are you paying attention Mr. Hayes?”

J: startled “Hm? Oh, yes, sorry Mr. Wallace.”

You can hear snickers around the room as Jay’s ears turn bright red.

J: “Ugh. Keep laughing, we’ll see who’s on top if this card’s powers are true.”

_It, of course, takes a few moments for that idea to be fully comprehended. That the Godcards were truly back. When her godcard disappeared the first time, so too did her beauty and grace, and her age. Within one day, she had returned back to her old average 14-year-old self. And she was a little relieved, after the first few days lamenting the return to normalcy, that the “Godcards” as they were so-called were gone. Which meant no more power struggles, no more brainwashed freaks trying to get to her. No more paranoia. Just fucking normal life.

And that’s how it been for five years. She was nineteen now and going to college.

She had thought the normalcy would last.

She had been a fool.

Her hands are shaking as she clutches the Black Card, staring at the figure of a beautiful woman staring back at her.

Aphrodite, Goddess of Love and Beauty.

Shaking she turns it around and reads the back._

Beauty And Grace: User is able to enhance and manipulate any aspect of their physical appearance at will (can make themselves prettier, more graceful, or even taller and more mature than the average person) This effect is not permananent and will wear off after a period of time

_They must have nerfed it, Misty thinks.

She sighs.

She really didn’t want to be a part of this again. Too much trouble. At least I can keep a low profile now.

The last one was a bitch._

Misty stares at the figure for a moment more. Part of her wanted to just throw the card out of the window, just be done with it. There was another part, however, that felt … happy, thrilled even. It warred against her cynical half and so far it was winning.

Slowly, taking care to dig it in deep, she puts in her jean pocket. Not the best hiding place she knew, but she had no time to think of a more hidden hiding spot, she had class after all.

She looks at the vanity mirror across the room. Had she been an average joe, she would have experimented with her newfound gifts. But she was not. So she just takes her backpack, and without even bothering to look at the business card, goes to class.

Eliza looks around the room during Mrs. Adams’ lecture too antsy to pay attention. She takes off her glasses and stares at them for five seconds. Once again, information appears in her head unexpectedly. She quietly whispers the new found data to herself
“So Salvino d’Armati created the first pair of wearable glasses in 1284? How interesting.”
Eliza is already getting used to her new power from the black card.

Misty sits in class during her teacher’s lecture, trying to ignore that … feeling. Ever since she touched that card, she felt its power in the back of her head. Just waiting to be used. It was rather distracting.

“I don’t want to be a super model,” she mutters to herself “already tried that and it didn’t work so well.”

The power was still there though. Begging her to use it. If only she had a compact mirror like those stuck-up pretty girls, maybe she’ll experiment. Make herself blonder perhaps or make herself taller. Who knows, maybe plop her breasts up a few cups. Wait, what was she thinking!? She only had the Godcard back a few moments and already she was thinking of ways to improve herself.

Power. This is what it does to people. Warps their minds. She knew how it worked, the more she used a power, the more powerful a card becomes. But how powerful can freaking Aphrodite possibly be? It’s not like she’s the Goddess of War.

Toby enters class, but fails to maintain focus. He constantly draws back to the black card in his hand, marvelling about what it could be or how it could function, how to tap in and understand it. He felt like a bomb that was going to explode in excitement, but he knew he had to contain it. He sighed, and then attempted to pay attention to his teacher.

The library is open, it is morning afterall.

Vashni runs to school and rushs into class being late

Lucifer sees that the library is open. He forgets about his omelette and, putting his card on the inside of his suit, exits the apartment building and heads to the library.

He arrives to the library without anything special happening, the library looks rather new, it was recently under renovation… 5 years ago. The walls are white, and the parking spaces empty. Rather empty for a morning.

Lucifer enters the Library, feeling his hand heat up again. After a moment of focusing, he was able to cool it back down.

He walks to the receptionist.

“Who’s in charge here?”

The receptionist looks quite confused

"Well… I do not actually know. You may want to ask Peter, he is our scribe and can be seen walking near the “magic” section "
