I don’t see too much of a deviation from his town game, but I don’t think he’s that meta-readable and I don’t think too much can actually be gained from that microread

I like this opener. Feels quite genuine if this player has rolled scum in past games. Townlean for this. They are also generally quite relaxed in the thread like shown here

Because I’m a 17er closed setup Harry Potter flavour I fuckin get VT.

This also feels genuine. I don’t have much to say about their takes, but it’d be pretty ballsy for them to go with this angle early on if they don’t know the general power level of the setup, so this slot is also a townlean.

IMO I think our of everyone who posted TBE and Cent have the most chance of being a team together.

This I think is however not the right way to approach scumreads at the moment. Constructing teams when not everyone has posted or constructing teams period without any scum flips. Find individual scum first and teams later.

I don’t even wolfread you you had some posts I liked but I think that further down the line (or preferably now) you need to back up your reads with reasoning or I will.

I dont think what you are doing rn is really productive, these really weak early lean / thoughts from experienced players who can fake that as wolf do not do much to actually further the town win condition of catching wolves.

It’s fine to show your thought process but that only helps us read you, it doesn’t help your reads be more effective / start a discussion around them. And I think your current posts are fakeable so I do not really like it so far.

I just think your first few reads / posts weren’t really productive and it can obviously improve when there are more posts and you can dive in to deeper reasons.

I have a problem where I post too much and it causes my reads to be strongarmed / other people’s thoughts to be lost in-thread so I am attempting to reduce that.

I read Surge as town for the following reasons:

Surge has a lot of volume that is not fluffposting. It looks good because it speaks effort.
There is a pattern on how he asks if people are wolfy. He follows those to an extreme. It looks like reaction testing with a purpose. He knows the results he wants and is not faking content.

What would Italy do if Italy rolled scum?

I really like his progression on Eli, it feels natural given the new information available on the thread, and I like how he reads TBE with effort. He early on says that TBE has a null first post and reiterates it later on his wallpost read.

Surge is, right now, my strongest town read. He pushes for the game, he gets everyone involved, he brings new content in, he is nonperformative (no one noticed his sequence of reaction tests) and none of his reads feel like TMI.

but I don’t think that scum would do something that is so blatantly LAMIST as their opener of anything. That is typically more crafted. I will see how they continue to post however.

I mean I respect the effort and reasoning in the post but surge is someone who has an incredibly obvious meta and so he can legitimately be read by “is he pushing people in an annoying way without listening to reason and doing more stupid things”.

I think so far he’s likely town but this read can be strengthened as the day goes on.

Like I want to be able to be read on my own merit instead of being read on how wolves tried to push me because I’m LHF.

I think this post itself is not disingenuous seeing as what happened in WWFM but the strong start formulating reads and pinging people for discussion and generally being aggressive is a fairly decent look so far because it comes off as someone trying to play a good game without being overly performative about that fact.
