Horror Wraith - Neutral Killer

I hate to say it because in a perfect world abilities like Horror Mark would be really cool, but in reality they don’t work in their “you don’t know about it” way. The thing is, people would always be looking for the mark every day/night to make sure they don’t miss it, or worse yet fiddling with brightness or other settings to help look for the mark, defeating the purpose of having subtle changes. I think a good compromise would be to have it give a system message on day 2 or 3 of the effect, so you still get the effect of people not knowing immediately, but now it wouldn’t be possible to abuse and is the same for everyone (because a visual mechanic also has the downside of being harder to see for the visually impaired too, which creates another imbalance).

The same can be said for a lot of games. But in a game with such a restrictive time to work with like TOL, even sacrificing as little as ten seconds to look for a horror mark can be a huge thing. Thats enough time for people to bus you, for a claim to be missed, for chat to push pass a poison message, etc.

I can agree with this. One on day three, when it should be impossible for you to miss it, since the idea is you’re now dead, unless the horror wraith dies that day or night.

the whole “you have to notice it” when it is something pretty easy to see is a bad idea

… So you expect it to be easy to spot? I think it kinda negates the point of looking then huh.

No no. The first day is incredibly hard. The second day, somewhat easier. The third and final day [Since you’re dead the next] would be blindingly obvious.

explain what it looks like, because the court almost always looks the same so I think a change would be obvious
