How does the Noble's new Gossip ability work?

“Receive feedback of abilities used on target tonight. Will not receive feedback for conversions or attacks.”

I just played a game where I got a knight executed who claimed to be guarding the prince because my gossip showed nothing when I used it on the prince. Does the “You watched over [X]” not show up on gossip? If so, which abilities do show up? I’m so confused :S

EDIT: Perhaps this could be in bugs, but I get the feeling that I’m just missing something. Also just to confirm, I wasn’t debbed/occed/converted the same night, the knight did not claim occupied, and the CW says he was on another target all game.

That seems like a bug imo, not sure though.

This is what I got off the wiki

Mechanics
Gossip will return the feedback of any abilities used on your target, exception feedback from conversion or attacks. This can be something like “[Target] is a member of the Unseen!” but will not include messages like “You converted [Target] to the Unseen last night.”

Knight doesn’t leave any feedback when it guards

If you had targeted the knight directly, it would have worked.

Oh lol I thought you used on the knight, yeah it’s not gonna show up if you use it on prince

The official feedback for knight guard is.
"You watched over NAME[n].

Most likely a bug.

Okay, so the way it works is if the target would receive feedback from an ability used on them by someone else, then I would see all of them?

So, for instance:
[1] is a physician, who is healing [4]
[2] is a sheriff, who is investigating [4]
[3] is an assassin, who is assassinating [4]
[4] is anything BD, doing nothing.

If on that same night, I use gossip on [4], all I would see is “You were healed last night”?
Or should I see “[4] was attacked last night so you healed them” and “[4] is not suspicious”?

No you only see it 1 time if it makes sense. It isn’t like an observer.

For example you would see: “You (the knight) watched over X” If you used it on the knight

@Navi

^^

This is what will happen

But if it’s abilities used ON target, wouldn’t it show everything that targeted them, not what the target does? If that is the way it works it should read “Receive feedback of abilities used BY target tonight”, right?

You never know if a knight guards you, so your target wouldn’t get that feedback

You would see both of the messages the Physician and Sheriff recieve. You are correct in your assessment of the ability, and I think it’s fair to ping @Ellie on this one. Seems like a bug to me, unless he left that message out on purpose for fake-claiming purposes.

You healed [4] last night.
[4] is not suspicious.

He targeted the prince, not the knight. The prince wouldn’t receive any feedback about being guarded

Yes but the noble would see the feedback of the Knight not the Prince.

Only if he targeted the knight.

No, it gets the messages from people that target you.

 OK. Shrug

According to the wiki it gives it’s not unless I’m missing something.

This ability is really confusing tbh.
