How to Make Maid a Reality in ToL

And there are ways to counterbalance it even if you were right. For example a cooldown

that becomes exactly the same thing, 2 every 2 nights, but way less fun lol

Except recomparing targets is way faster and it is easier to put into a middleground

How to decide

  • Nukes right
  • Hippos right

Firekitten you know you should vote me and not Hippo

It’s very tempting tbh

I need a whole essay of why I should

It’s objectively not worse nor better than any other ability, and is why it would be a great candidate to add to the game. You’re comparing apples to cranberries.

The Sheriff has no interaction with finding the NK while the Maid does. The Observer’s window peak has limited uses and may or may not be OP.

False negatives only occur with framing. Maid players don’t think of 2 compatible people as BD, they consider them as “teammates”. Nobody should automatically assume their compatible check are both BD.

Without framing, the amount of times you would be comparing two Unseen or Cult on N2 that you would get on average assuming Cult/Unseen don’t whiff their conversion and 1 person died N1 would be about 4% of the time. About 1 in every 22 games you would be getting a false negative early in the game. Of course, the chances increase as the game goes on but so does your chance of getting killed. This isn’t really relevant to anything - just a fun exercise.

Nuke, you made a lot of disjointed points but I don’t understand your position at all. What is the general thesis of your argument?

Leap frog yes

Limited uses no

See if they left their room also probably no

Simple parity cop is good, adding day abilities and poke around is already on par with ToL’s average

Change Poke Around to a day ability that informs us of class type at the beginning of the night so we don’t have to cancel the leapfrog train and be better informed for target selection? Could be interesting.

If we did a 2 target matchmake per night, it’d have to be limited use, no exceptions.

If we did a single target matchmake per night, it’d be unlimited use, no exceptions.

But I feel like the first option is OP while the 2nd option is UP and I wonder if there is an appropriate, useful and flavorful middle ground.

So don’t

Like we’re just now adding a difficult class in Pretender

We should keep it up with Maid next

And then after Maid, we follow it up with the hardest class of them all

I’d say remove Poke Around from Maid and Make service its 2 use night ability.

Poke Around on Handmaiden is just Bat eyelashes on Duchess, so remove that too and make Service the night ability, infinite uses, ‘If your target has royal blood, you will learn their exact class.’

Unseen love converting royals so Handmaiden would be useful.
