Was gonna cover that when I got home.

I grew up in a deeply religious part of the south. Because of this I didn’t learn what being gay was (let alone being trans) until my mid 20s. Joined a women’s tackle team on a lark (ama among other things I am a shitty athlete) and found ladies who were gay (not trans) who said it was okay to wear men’s clothes. Took me out to a bar and I was wearing an undershirt and flirted the night away. I felt closer to home. Through more self exploration there and California I came to accept it but hid it. A transphobic joke at work was the catalyst I needed to come out.
