Idea - ButterFly effect

How about:
SFM (Special Forum Mafia) Random Role Madness - ButterFly Effect?

i like the idea of semi-standard fm rolemadness, with one character that sends someone back in time for a night, and then the host goes back and redoes night results using like natural-action-deduction (or one of those things that uses logic to figure it out rather than an action order), adding in the new action, and then going from there;
you could treat not redoing the actions later as two timelines merging, so while some people’s physical status might have changed from others actions their own actions did not, and could not change.

so basically, if the time shenanigans caused the person who was lynched one day to die the previous night, then the host doesnt redo the day/lynch, just no one is lynched that day

flips would be alignment only to give an idea of progress, but not make provide too much information

I think you might have misunderstood the point.
If someone gets lynched, their existence is Redacted.

not in my proposition

prepares self mentally.
So you propose…?

maybe that can be done later, but what im suggesting is relatively minor time shenanigans, and something like redacting a person (and thus removing their actions in the past as well, should someone go back) is a bit too complex to start out with

its what those three posts were before you replied
semi-standard rolemadness fm, with 1 boy being time-shenanigans man.
have dead players submit actions even when dead, for a certain time after their passing until they can be confirmed dead, and dont let people redo actions, if an action they did would either not make logical sense (attempting to target someone who is now dead) or is not actually possible (they dont have a use left on it, perhaps.) then instead nothing happens

say the time shenanigans man has a 3-use ability to send someone 1 night back and a 1-use to send someone two.

So they use their actions after everyone else?
Can this delay a death?

they dont change their action later.
their whole body is going back in time, not just their consciousness.
they add another action to the resolving of night phase
so whatever action they do the night of time shenanigans,
the host takes it, and acts as if there were an extra player in the night-in-the-past, and that said player was doing that action, and then resolve that night phase again, using normal procedure, preferably something like https://wiki.mafiascum.net/index.php?title=Natural_Action_Resolution (i.e. not an action-list)
no arbitrary restrictions

Okay.

except id say that a time traveler cannot cause time travel to happen
i.e. the time shenanigans boy cant send themselves back, only to send another person back for a chain reaction, and that someone else going back cant manipulate the time shenanigans boy in to sending someone else back (i.e. a steadfast rule; time manipulation can only affect up to two nights prior, even if you had multiple time machines and a plan, 2 nights before a machine is used is all said machine can affect)
