Using point as a tiebreaker for situations where otherwise a vote would be impossible for both sides. That kind of situation while not a balance issue, really kills the flow of the game.
The fact that the King makes these situations incredibly rare where otherwise (for example in ToS) they would happen all the time is one of my favorite aspects of the King.
Thatās why Iāve been supporting lowering his survivability. The best games are the ones with an elected King.
Pretender King doesnāt count.
Regardless, in the situation of a starting King in this late stage of the game you will always end up with a non-balance issue of some kind, either swing because King RNG (not as bad as you would think, the swing is there either way and competent scum reading means it has counterplay) or the game suddenly coming to a halt because of a temporary stalemate.
Personally, due to thinks like the Elected King mechanics I consider it to be the lesser of 2 evils.
Ideally of course you would have something else that perfectly negates the swing, for example the queen suggestion I posted awhile ago (not in that exact form, but something to the same effect), but that doesnāt exist right now so King is going to be swingy no matter what.
I think a good change would be were all supports/Knights canāt target the same person in a row might be a heavy nerf to bd though
I personally donāt mind elected Kings having majority either as they arenāt random.

I know. Itās a balance you have to strike.
The idea is that ideally the King would die at around the midpoint of the game most of the time for one reason or another.
That doesnāt mean make him completely helpless, in fact right now he only has 2 guards, which is likely about the right number for those purposes.
Yeah King with 6 guards that he could self target was dumb.
I just donāt really like pretender as a solution to king out right counters are dumb
