well the difference is

maze runner ending spoilers

in the books, all the immunes were sent to an island so they could restart civilization or something
in the movies, they find the cure “in thomas’ blood” or whatever (which makes no fucking sense because it affects your brain) and everyone lives happily ever after
but teresa still dies i think
