In the case of official 24 hour period
That’s essentially a period in which people can choose to join a game before the official signups start
That’s redundant

Hosts can say ‘I don’t want pre-ins’ but with official pre-ins the point of having pre-ins is completely lost
You can still be sniped out of a slot if you aren’t online when that 24 hours period starts and you aren’t online

Has any, on record, game got even close to filling before signups

What prevents people from treating unoffical pre-ins as the new //ins

i personally will do pre-ins on a case by case basis
like
if you aren’t going to be on when sign ups get posted but still want a slot

That’s how every disasters starts

“It hasn’t happened before”

Because you might not see the setup
You might not know who is joining that game

In this case the exchange goes both ways
So unlike bank runs the host can literally choose to say no

so what, you can just out later right?

It’s rude
Now, people might not care about that, but some might

Simons idea is good if we made it so it only works for regulars in time zones that wouldn’t be active during the signups

just let host decide
their setup

“only regulars can sign up at _____ point” is just asking for controversy

this is the solution

‘maybe just time zones then?

Not every game is hosted by same timezone
That requires a decent amount of coordination

games being quickfilled is an issue but like

there’s no real solution

it’s just a matter of who gets to the party late

Geyde, why would a host post signups for a game that has been filled by pre-ins?

yeah

I do not think hosts in general would even allow a game to get filled by pre-ins
So I wouldn’t answer this question on prinicple

hold on a second
