I disagree with a lot of the way america is run

but it’s like a sports team and I want to see it conquer the rest

if you tell people what timezone you are in

it’s not hard for them to figure out where you are from

About 6 years ago now, after the exams we always do a group activity with the class. That year, it was a barbecue at her house. I saw her pets, the cats and the fish. At that barbecue, she said she doesn’t like soft drinks.

My friends told me because they know about The Thingᵀᴹ.

We’re friends on FB and it was pretty obvious when she changed her profile picture.

I googled her name (which could be considered creepy? idk?) and the first result was an article about her parents being divorced.

This is definitely the most creepy one. But also not really.

You know those sites that tell you if your password has been leaked in a breach?

Well, I knew about them. So naturally, I entered her email. And I found out that it had in fact been breached. So naturally, I googled where to download that database and found that her password was indeed in it in plain text. So, I created an anonymous email account (because there was no way in hell I was telling her that anonymously) and emailed her about it. I don’t know if she actually changed it but I hope she did.

:eyes:

ok
yeah

that’s a bit creepy

Googling her name could potentially be creepy depending on how close you are, the password thing is pretty creepy

At one point I went with a friend over my account and she tried to find out as much as they could
Was pretty creepy, she found both my clear name and the address of my family, just by combining some small details
She helped me to purge everything possibly problematic

ultimate strategy to prevent people from figuring out your identity

just say no
