One of my good friends thought I hated him for almost an entire year at first because I would say sarcastic things to him

We were both shocked when we found out how the other felt

I’ve never had anything else even close to that in scope happen but it’s definitely the case that I can overestimate how much people see my sarcasm as such, and of course that’s even harder over the internet.
