Question. What are neutrals lacking right now?

If I was told what people want in a neutral I could probably (try) to create one that’s suitable

iirc crone can just choose to mark town people on a day ability

any reason to be in the game

Crone can only mark with the day ability iirc

I mean
You could say that for conversion
And neutral killer
And every role in general, we could just make the game vanilla

high power role madness is hard to balance
3p on top of that makes the job of balancing it that much harder

recognize that I say this despite introducing even more neutrals

At least it isn’t pretender

FoL has conversion as a main mechanic, and I think working around that is reasonable
Neuts have always been the annoyance when it comes to “how the hell do I make these impactful yet still fair and not just have them openclaim d1”

Neutrals’ main problem imo is being convert immune
There are too many things stopping conversion

That’s why vast majority of them are scumsided

We balance for a mechanic that has a chance of not even impacting the game

Remember when mercenary was convertable :eyes:

Yes, those were brilliants days and I wish Mercenary was still convertable. It should be.

Let’s say allowing conversion of neutrals would be semi-fair
How would you go about changing setup to accommodate for that

(I’m interested in the take and I’m not throwing my pov in play)

I wouldn’t, if we were to not allow conversion of neutrals I’d be nerfing abilities so that they can’t prevent conversion
I have no idea why magic barrier prevents conversion, conversion imo should be unstoppable bar a few specific actions

Obviously neutral evil neutrals shouldn’t be able to be converted. Maybe add them to scumchat but not consider the conversion successful.
Neutral good like Mercenary should be fully convertable

What about something like inquisitor

Who can lean either way
