Legends of Merathia (A D&D campaign)[Chapter Six: Manhunt]

Valyria casts fire bolt on a zombie that could attack James and Rina, but somehow it bakfires and Valyria takes 10 damage

I think I’m just gonna sit here for a while…

Val takes the rope from her belt runs out the window and in mid air drops it on rina and lands on the other side

climb up its both of yours only hope of escaping.

James pushes Rina off of him, and gathers himself, drawing his swords into a guard stance

“You want me? COME GET ME!”

(Second Wind healing for 1d10+3 = 10 health)

The zombies lash at Rina and James, Rina takes 9 bludgeoning damage, James takes 11 bludgeoning damage

Talara looks scared and does nothing

Siegfried fails to escape the pile

Jumps out the window and onto the roof gracefully as a part of the inn explodes

[1d20 (20) + 2 = 22]

“Hold on I’ll get you out”

Summons a thorn whip and sending toward Rina, and successfully grabs her, the thorns, however, pierces Rina’s skin and clothing doing a decent amount of damage but pulling her up safely onto the roof

[1d20 (20) + 5 = 25 - Critical Hit!]
[2d6 (5, 6) = 11]

James drops his axes, grabs the rope, and begins to climb

(1d20 + 6 w/ advantage for Athletics = 24)

He reaches the top of the building easily

The zombies keep attacking the burning inn

End Of Combat

A few minutes pass, there is no movement from the zombie piles, eventually the moans of the undead hoard fall silent and they slump to the ground, covering what remains of the Rusty Knife in corpses

I cast cure wounds on myself and Rina I go to Siegfrieds dead body

Siegfried is obscured by like 50 zombies

I try to bury him out

It takes some work but eventually you get him out

loot da body AND CUT HIS FRICKIN HEART OUT

You get a notebook, a key and his heart

returns to the party and opens the notebook

slides next to Val and reads with her

There are many pages missing, and a single sentence, it says “Meet in the house to discuss Nesseltein”, it’s scrawled hurriedly
