@Hippolytus WINOTA IS BANNED IN BRAWL
Wait really?
Why?
Winota wasn’t that oppressive lol
How DARE boros have a viable commander lol
DCI meeting: Okay, Winota contains white, and Lord Maro orders that White can have no good commanders.
Anyway, so what happens next now that Fires and Agent are banned and Companions are nerfed?
The meta becomes 200% healthier and I start playing Arena again in my free time.
yay the only good non simic card is banned
gee i wonder what the meta will settle into
fires was busted but i had a playset of them and it was fun to play jank with cuz u cld put anything in a fires deck. i was playing historic honden fires and it was lods of fun lol.
Try to pitch magic to me, a yugioh player
Pls
standard meta just gonna be nissa uro again. id like azorious control to make a come back and i feel like it will, cuz whats the point in playing jeskai anymore without fires of invention lol. i still dont think many midrange strats will be possible tbh.
idk anything about yugioh but the basic system of magic is that u play lands which you can tap for mana and then you cast spells which cost a certain amount of mana. and there are 5 colors of mana and each is good at doing different things. this is super flexible core design and it means the game is constantly changing and its p funny pls play. the end.
The way yugioh works is that there’s no mana or resource cost to playing cards, apart from some effects for bringing cards out that often come with benefits too
this makes card advantage absurdly valuable and the central mechanic of the game, and why
“Pot of Greed”, a card that gives a +1 in card advantage with no drawback, will always be banned.
yeah magics basic mechanics is super replayable and super balanced, most of the problems come from when they print cards which break the core mehcanics. the card were talking about which was banned yesterday is called fires of invention and allowed players to cast spells for free lol.
Yugioh isn’t that balanced
75% of the cards will always suck and be unplayable competitively
3-4% are always banned / cycling on and off the ban list
7% are top tier meta deck cards
the rest are a part of fringe “rogue” strategies which can work at times
card advantage is still insanely strong in mtg
there’s a reason blue and simic are the strongest colour combinations in standard
but yeah I think you’re right to say that Bant Ramp is going to get… silly
again
