Mass Claiming to clear

So i just played a game where i was pretty much proven to be clear. I proved myself as noble in a cult game. and got elected as BD King. It was day 3.

Then i asked people to mass whisper me their logs so we can easily find the bad guys.

Exactly 2 people did it. Everyone else refused to do it.

What’s the reason why people hate this strategy so much in this game?
I come from epic mafia where whenever a setup has a clear and whispers, mass claiming is literally abused.

I see a tons of reasons why its good:

#1 Its very easy to detect liars for most roles. For example, try fake claiming butler when the king knows the logs of everyone else. Same for princess, etc.
#2 The king can now coordinate the investigative roles, as well as defensive roles.
#3 There is most likely going to be at least one role which is claimed 3 times, easily revealing a liar.

I think seeker can read whispers, only possible reason not to whisper.

Apostle keeps royal blood

Nope. Seeker does not have the ability to do that. Nobles can read whispers but they changed that didn’t they?

“You will be able to hear the next 4 Whispers.”

it is an apostle ability

That’s an apostle then according to you huh?

I specified apostle because I had been wrong. In any case, the pint is the same: Cult could hear the claims

Because that is a super boring way to play the game.

Mass claiming to a confirmed BD player sounds fine and powerful.

I’d be worried about whisper interceptions or Chilling Touch tho

how would chilling touch work in that scenario?

I assume that people may go crazy and vote to execute someone who isn’t claiming a role, when he may have been chilled just after the rolecall started.

apostle ability is tragically easy to work round

like “everybody whisper me how old you are in dog years .”

or everybody send me 5 whispers Hello , I , am , a , sheriff ( also why am I doing this , I am a sheriff lol )

The main reason this dosen’t get used is because people are really really scared of finding evils using any method other than an investigator rng .

And half the BD don’t whisper you and make you focus on them.

In a unseen game currently not whispering to the death knight should be a death sentence , but people just don’t get it

All the Unseen immediately whispers you, but then your Observer and Sheriff don’t say a word to you.

Then they wonder why you’re accusing them and have no logs.

Or only your Sheriff whispers you and then Evil just converts him because he made himself a target.

I think maybe people need to start doing it a lot more , when people see it happening and start getting exed for not joining in they will learn

I think not claiming to death knight should be considered game throwing

Then 75% of the community would be banned.

I think we need a ranked mode. In ranked we can apply stricter rules like your suggesting. And u would only get banned from ranked mode.

I don’t get the arguments that it’s unsportsmanlike, or boring. There’s no strict role list so unless you get 3 claims for the same class it doesn’t automatically out anyone. If you’re evil and you keep a good fake log, it’ll be hard to pick you out. If you don’t, well, you deserve to lose. And it’s certainly more interesting to try to order different BDs to do different things to confirm than to sit around and wait to die, or just flat out guess.

BD is just way too content to rely on investigatives instead of social deduction, but that will probably change as people improve.

The thing is there are a few popular claims, so you have a good chance of having repeat claims like that.
