What happened?
The Mercenary was contracted to 8 and even though the cult lost, he still won.
What was SUPPOSED to happen?
His contract had lost the game which means he should have lost

No cause after 8 died he killed himself and there was no BD dead

I’m quite sure that the suicide mechanic was removed providing the contract isn’t a neutral, so I imagine he was killed.
