If he was town, town would have been buffed in some way that we’d know about already
if he was scum, well I believe that whatever buff his team could have gotten by yeeting himself, it would not have been worth his own life day 1 no matter what the reward was due to how skilled of a player he is

the only other possibility between those and that he threw is that he’s some kind of neut. That, or kyo’s information was compromised somehow, or this game is bastard
