What about needing a new one each day?

Like the point of the pet is that it’s supposed to be difficult to communicate with. If someone can make their own cipher, everyone understands how it works, and they can continue using it for the rest of the game, then they’re not really a pet anymore, since again the point of the pet is to have difficulty communicating the entire game.

Do you feel me? And if so, do you have any better ideas on how to fix this problem than what I proposed originally? The reason why I want to ban existent ciphers is that someone could just look them up and have the key instantly. Like probs if u googled what was there it would tell you what it was.

…oh. Well this might hurt you then, but… if that’s the case, then why not just ban ciphers all-together?

I mean, I might’ve started it as a joke since I like finding loopholes, but -to iterate- I don’t think people who will rand as Pet will actually bother using ciphers to communicate. I firmly believe that they will just post memes as they always have.

It’s not supposed to be impossible for them to communicate non-meaninglessness entirely.

Like in the official, IRL Turbo version of this game, the pet can do anything that does not involve speech. There, they still have a lot of options to help, options which just dont exist online.

Therefore, I think the way I have it now (self-made ciphers only, five posts max per cipher) is the best possible compromise.

Is that okay?

I agree with you, but nevertheless if they care enough / there is an urgent matter that no one is aware of or aware of the solution but them, they will make a cipher for it.

Uh… Yeah, sure. I mean, even if all else fails, not even you can be blamed for it (mainly because I was the cause of this paranoia, but also) because it will be the first Airlock game on forum anyways.

We can’t exactly fix mistakes if we don’t know where they will appear, so if the first game fails, then just fix the second one. (I’m pretty sure that’s what sulit is doing with VLDR anyway.)

It is a literal jettison
If a player gets into the airlock, they die by the ship voting to progress to the Warp phase (hammer is majority of living players), thus simultaneously warping the ship and ejecting (“jettisoning”) the airlocked player out of the back of the ship, in order to kill them.

Not sure if it’s possible for a jettison to be done any more literally
maybe I should mandate the term for airlock votes LOL

Oh yeah, there’s one more thing:

Because of the unusual nature of this game’s setup, I will also be adding four more forms of spectation. The six are described below. I will add the other four to the OP when I am capable of editing again.

  1. Fully Informed: Told the entire rand, added to all whisper conversations, and can receive non-public mechanical game information during the game when requested.
  2. Mostly Informed: Told the entire rand, and can receive non-public mechanical game information during the game when requested.
  3. Semi-Informed: Told every class that is in the game, but not which players have which classes.
  4. Sparsely Informed: Told how many classes of each of the five factions are in the game, but not which classes.
  5. Barely Informed: Told how many ship-aligned players and how many alien-aligned players there are at the start of the game.
  6. Uninformed: Told nothing about the setup’s formation.

If you want to spectate as one of these six or are on the spectator list already and want to change to a different form of spectation besides 1 or 6 (the only options I had before), please ping me as such. Thank you!

You may decrease number in spectator type reference level during the game at any time and by any amount, if you’d like, but you can never go back to a number higher than the place you’re at currently, of course. You can also start spectating mid-game if you want, if you aren’t a player (in the game or previously in the game and now subbed out), are a backup that wants to give up their possibility of ever subbing in, or were not a part of the game at all before then.

Kind of like a ladder, lol.
