Lunatic : You believe that you are the Demon, but you cannot kill. The real Demon knows who you are and who you target each night.

let me explain this thing as it can be baffling to newbies.

there are two possibilities for the game, 1) lunatic is not in the game and 2) lunatic is in the game.

if 1) is true

the demon just gets told they’re the demon, what demon they are, who they’re minions are, etc.

if 2) is true

the REAL demon gets told instantly that the lunatic is in play. They get told who the lunatic is and what character they are. If the lunatic is in the game, they think they are the same character that the demon is. The lunatic, meanwhile, does not know that a lunatic is in play. They just get told the information from part 1. The real demon is informed right away who the lunatic chooses to target each night and will be updated if/when the targets ever change

The minions that the lunatic sees can be anyone. Townsfolk, outsiders, real minions, even the actual demon. The goal of the evil demon here is to not let the lunatic figure out that they actually are the lunatic

also one more thing. i’ve seen this happen to many times and it’s a stupid way for a game to end

please dont open claim lunatic out of just a hunch that you are that. I wouldn’t claim lunatic unless you’re already dead and you’re reasonably certain there is no mastermind alive

The lunatic can recieve any info for his minions, he could be told townsfolk, outsiders, the minions, or even the real demon are his minions

but it will appear identical to a regular demon’s info as otherwise the lunatic would know they are the lunatic

The Lunatic actually shouldn’t have that much trouble figuring out they’re the Lunatic unless scum gets lucky and the Lunatic’s “minions” are playing really well.
