makoto and nagito actually have different kind of lucks if that makes sense
if i recall correctly
nagito gets what he wants through bad events taking place, while makoto suffers through events that can be seen as really “unlucky”
but most of the time these “unlucky” events end up saving his life

You see, I was planning on killing Marshal by saying it would be a tracker that I was injecting into him, intentionally botching the needle stab and then offering him an icepack with a hole in it so the liquid would go into the open wound.
I wound up stabbing Mist with a needle a bunch of times.
