For that to happen, they’d have to be informed that they could defuse the bomb. However… it’s impossible to know.

If the player thinks that:
• the bomb is defusable, then Monokuma has to make sure that the player cannot defuse it / make the bomb non-defusable…
• the bomb is non-defusable and does nothing since they already gave up before it even started, then Monokuma has to -after the player died- announce that the bomb was defusable…

…which is an impossibility. Monokuma cannot know what the player will choose, hence the following two worlds will always be possible if he made the wrong choice:
• the bomb is defusable, and actually got defused
• the bomb is non-defusable, and the player never tried to do anything about it
…both of which are unsatisfactionary for Monokuma.

One could argue that “if Monokuma lies about the bomb being defusable when in reality, it isn’t”, Monokuma could bring some despair to the survivors, but… the spectators won’t be too happy about a lying Monokuma. Since that would be Danganronpa V3 all over again.

Powerwolfing is making bad decisions while having charisma, right? Then, that’s just what I will do. …I just hope that I won’t become the Blackened, but I am 60% sure that my hope will he shattered.

Yeah, that works. …if the player thinks the bomb is defusable. If the player doesn’t even try to defuse the bomb because they think that the bomb is non-defusable, then the player dies in the end… but they will die a boring death.

To be more specific, everyone will get motives from the Mastermind to become a Blackened …and I am hoping that whatever motive the Mastermind will give, I won’t be appealed by it.
