its probably because youโ€™re joining late.
when growing as fast as possible in these games, and with the right luck/circumstances, its a decent acceleration. meaning its easy to get left behind.
find a way to bootstrap yourself into some kind of power. generally, your 3 main avenues are a skill, a technique, or an artifact.
by skill i refer to an ability put on your character that other players do not have, that you can use for power and to gain power
by technique i refer to something you as a player are doing with what your character has, that other players probably have as well. (as in, the way your using it is what is special/unique, rather than the โ€˜itโ€™)
by artifact i refer to any item which your character possesses, which other players do not, that you use for power or to gain power. it can be magical in nature, or merely symbolic (for instance a position as The Director would count as an artifact, but so would Infragilis)

hey man one of the things about your power sources is that you usually should keep them secret.
being able to do some large effect is nice and all, but its better to be able to do some large effect that your enemies dont know about
