like how did you even know that was a class though. is there a public classlist somewhere that just so happened to never be linked at all? because that would have been useful.

how though. what did i say that gave you an indication.
like, i stand by that my play through at least the first 2 cycles would not have changed were i good or someth. the way i got in the way somewhat for puzzles is just kinda how i do.

even if everyone is entirely neutral playing that way really isnt ideal. not unless the mechanics allow a quick and easy kill if the opponent is surprised or something. but if combat is like it is here, then killing everyone is really not the best way to play. at least not from the beginning. a shift into that somewhere mid-late game might be possible.

Alrighty so, gonna point out some things that game that I coulda done better/will be fixed for next game.

First off would like to say that this game was so much fun to host and design even if it was stressful sometimes. I very much enjoyed hosting it and would love to again after making changes. I hope yā€™all had fun playing it :D.

Roles

First thing Iā€™d like to point out are the roles. I took em all from the ToS page this game as I wanted to test the waters and see how itā€™d work out. While some roles worked pretty well, other roles seemed pretty boring or hard to play compared to others. Next game I plan to just make custom roles and make more interesting and diverse wincons for each one, including neutrals. I think this will make the game more fun to play for noots and add a new sort of dynamic to it. Thereā€™s definitely a lot of area to grow roles-wise.

Instakills/knocks

Uh, kinda self explanatory. Really unfun for the player getting knocked, was an idiot move on my part to add mechanics that knock people with such ease. Will not be in the game next time, Iā€™m going to try and work out the kinks combat-wise.

Role/Wincon Claiming/Speculation

Definitely removing this rule and will instead give necessary fake claims to the roles that need them, as Alice suggested. The modkills really hurt to do this game and I regret doing every single one. I donā€™t want to do that again and I think that enforcing such a rule as this, on this forum, just is not going to work out.


Those were the big things I wanted to address. I think this game went well but was more of a test run in terms of running it on these forums. I think it really helped work out some issues the game had and I think it will run much better next game.

If anyone else has any ideas or anything they think would be cool to add or remove before I start working on designing the next one Iā€™m all ears.

Kat and I were also discussion hosting Roaming via discord and I want to know what yā€™all think about that.

In the game I referenced, we started individually and had to climb a tower and kill an npc as our main goal. I killed everyone I encountered because it had no drawback - and the only person I didnā€™t won and had a goal to kill everyone else and killed me.

Perhaps. Depends in how seperated people are.

If everyone ends up groups of 2 and attacks the person they are with, then kills everyone they encounter it could easily work and the ends very fast.

Much easier to have most people banned from yolo killing other players.

I agree roaming on discord works better honestly.

if i do elect to play i can try to show you how i was planning on doing this on discord tho

I can also help set it up I have been told you can setup server chats to allow you to swap channels with reactions.

So have a master channel with reactions and allow people to shift around could work you also make it so they can only view messages sent while they are in the room.
Donā€™t remember how to off the top on my head but could ask my friend for a reminder in how to if needed.

Wouldnt u basically set up a role for each one and a chat that only those with the role can see, and just take off any they were in and give them the new role

Pretty much that yes.
But you can automate it with a bot and want to make it so they canā€™t see the messages from when they werenā€™t there.
