Arthas stops chanting the spell, and the battle ends. He coughs out blood, and kneels down. A volley of arrows come towards him.
Kaito dashes towards him and pulls him back. Arthas is now unconscious.
“A bloody defeat…”

He lets Arthas drink the wine. Arthas’ internal wounds are healed.

(They are both discilplined, but Kaito is traumatised by a dragon and therefore won’t be able to think rationally, while Arthas did his actions to prevent Kaito from death.)
