Opinion Thread: The Fool (ToL)

fool playing to win isn’t playing bad unless you redefine things into the opposite of what everyone else takes them to mean

i agree with you that evils shouldn’t be punished for lynching fool and I get your analogy but your argument is still wrong and is basically just redefining every word in the English language to make sure your position is valid

No

It’s moreso you taking words excessively literally when the point stands regardless of the phrasing

So in general it would be appreciated if you would explain why you disagree with the idea rather than uselessly attacking the wording being used to convey such

They are needlessly complicating things by trying to force me to agree to abide by bizarre definitions like “a correct lynch can be a lynch that makes you lose”

I’m not doing the mental gymnastics required to participate in such a discussion, but if they want to talk like a normal person I’m all ears

Why should the fool punish the evils? Even if the fool did jack squat to them, they still failed to lynch a Town member, which would have brought them closer to victory. All because the fool was the scummiest player to The Town and The Scum, and yet it is not the beat lynch for either.

Like, it doesn’t even help the NK either because the NK is, at it’s core, a megabuffed Assassin faction of 1.

It doesn’t make sense for Fool to hurt evils because however much it hurts evils, it is effectively helping BD and repairing any harm it did to them

It hurts evils by both being scummy and not being Town. It is the antithesis of helpful.

The fool fails at making people not lynch the scummiest player (which is how the game should generally be played, because it re-enforces good play) because the defense of “they could be fool” is an easy but heavy defense to make.

The fool also enforces the scum to act like the fool as a gambit, which re-enforces bad play.

The fool also creates unnessecary WIFOM of whether they are scum, fool, or town. This is unnessecary because you shouldn’t be punished for lynching players that hinder your goal of winning. (Side note: I do condone the killing players of your team who in the endgame will lose the game for you)
