Orangevitational - Aliens Win!

My action can basically force nobody to target someone for a night (and kill them if they do). Which makes it a relatively good protective class.

I’d prob rather not be frozen as I do plan on doing it but i’m also extremely good at mafia so if I decide not to i’m more than happy with it cuz wolves might SPK me.

You can only do it twice, though, which means your power is extremely weak early on and is better suited to be covered by other protective roles who have more charges than you. With that being said, if you want to use your action anyway I won’t freeze you

This game is weird because of the alts. Normally I’d have good reason to clear someone or clear someone with reservations because I would have an idea of their wolfrange is, but in this game it’s just “these people I think are villagers…” and then I stop because I don’t have any idea of what X player is capable of.

With that said.

Feeling pretty good about the top four posters besides me atm (Surv, Cryo, Trap, Student).

Communications - I think their observation about the tonal gap of Cryo’s mechanical posts in post 188 is a good one, but I don’t really think that it’s wolfy for Cryo. Think they’ve been pretty keen to discuss mechanics and they knew how they wanted to optimize certain roles (theirs, communication) but they were at a stopping point with Coroner/Scientist as those two roles have the most potential to wreck havoc if they rand wolf.

Just really want to figure out where they’re at from a macro perspective because they’ve been kinda fixated on Cryo, who I think is town. Comm - do you have any in-depth read on anyone not named Cryo? I know you called me a wolf, Officer town, Scientist town, but you haven’t been detailed on anyone not named Cryo.

Scientist is intentionally playing with their cards close to their chest. Kind of annoyed because I feel like everyone should be playing somewhat transparently due to the alt-nature of this game + they’re one of the strongest roles in the game, so I feel like they should be playing more openly.

I liked Officer’s observation where they said that Cryo was applying heuristics from an MU article. They’ve also had decent progressions on their reads (me trending okay to wolf with some doubt mixed in there, Student shifting from wolf to villa)

Good with the wagon on Faciliator atm, and slankers gonna slank.

The only thing that’s making me doubt myself is

I think this was a fair criticism of my posts at the time, but I do want them to play more transparently specifically because of alts + the importance of their role.

I kinda feel like the way the thread has progressed, it is somewhat likely a wolf is in the 0-posters. We’ll see what they have to say though.

I mean I feel like there are probably better options, we want to cast a wide protective net early on good roles that we deem villagery. (Eavesdropper, Surveillance, Scientists, Student (depending on who they backup), coroner). Be able to keep them alive as long as possible and force wolves to kill either bad roles or wolfy players.

Saving it for the lategame isn’t as important. This game is momentumn-based, as it is a rolemadness and wolves losing a member is losing even/odd-night kills. Getting a pack-wolf early is really good for us so we want to be able to optimize that.

I didn’t consider that, that’s a very good point

Trapsetter made me realize that if we get a packwolf early then the wolves can kill only once every other night.

WOW lol. Kinda wondering how wolves ever win this setup at all.

(I’m sure they have, just that it looked quite townsided when I was looking over the setup)

Gonna peace out for a bit, but I think I’ve given a good summation of my thoughts and questions so far.

If anyone wants me to explain something more lmk.

First time this was ran on the site the town stomped the wolves and did it in less than 24 hours iiirc. The weakness of the wolves is supposedly balanced by the flipless nature of this setup.

Teleporter thoughts recently have felt very natural tbh

Really? I feel like the last time this was run on this site the clock had like, 4 hours left.

I could be mistaken about when the last time this setup was ran

is this another player’s townslip? i had the same thought when thinking about the setup pregame, but you actually do know the identity of your partner. re-read the OP.

this is why i’m calling myself threadspewed, i told the thread it’s a misyeet and then everyone just kinda shifted away from it without a second thought.

agree that day 1 should be relatively short.

@Trapsetter Nevermind

you don’t need my protection

you can just trap yourself

I’m sorry, I know you know the identity of your wolf partner. I meant you don’t know their alt identity.

Not meant to be a townslip.

To whoever asked, the more I thought about it the derp attempt from Student is probably towny (unless they’re a Certain Person), usually wolves aren’t ballsy enough to try that shitty of a derp clear

Also the way they reacted to pressure on it doesn’t feel extremely wolfy in that they didn’t get super defensive or dip from the thread

PLUS people I think are towny think they are town

Summary

The “everyone is towny so far” is extremely funny and probably scummy but I’ll digress there

I might have missed a game but I don’t think it’s been run since more than a year ago
