What’s so anti-consensus about that take? I’m pretty sure it was also consensus. I wasn’t around for SoD so no matter what I say, it’s consensus at this point because someone else has already expressed the read. I’ve said this already and I’m saying it again because I literally have no way out except if I just don’t give reads, and I don’t think that’s very constructive.
Btw, if you think my takes are just pure consensus, what do you think about the fact that if Scientist, Facilitator and Officer were just consensus PoE, nobody had placed a vote on Scientist until I did?
I’ll try to do a ISO of Eavesdropper tomorrow; my concern is just not implicitly biasing against them for not showing up during the first four or so hours of the game day. Another thing I’m kind of concerned by is that Eavesdropper has… the third most posts out of everyone in the game thread, and I can’t really remember any of them.
Fine with pressure given Comm’s + Surv’s thoughts on them.
Are you actually reading anything at all that I’m saying or are you just picking every single post I make and calling it wolfy because you want it to be wolfy?
asking about wolfreads is a good and villagery question because that’s what is important in games of mafia. wolves can fake townreads, especially on villagers, since they know these are villagers. faking wolfreads is harder because you’re lying, unless you’re bussing.
now, it’s not a reason to townread someone by itself, but i added it to my pile of reasons.
the fact you had this take in the first place feels weird.
if i knew how to put it better, i would. it just doesn’t seem like a natural thought for a villager to have.
the honest answer is that i don’t really care.
it’s better than yours!!!
that’s not the issue, the issue is you bailing out on reading the slot because it’s playing poorly. the very implication it’s playing poorly implies you think it’s a v slot, but you also say you can’t read it, which seems like a lie because you’d already implied it was a villager. if it’s a wolf, they aren’t playing poorly, because they are getting themselves the ability to shoot a villager against consensus.
in short, it looks like you’re tming the slot v while pretending you can’t read them.
Why should I be making memorable posts at this point? I don’t have any thoughts that haven’t already been expressed by someone else, which is the entire conundrum I find myself in. I wasn’t here for like 6 hours or so after the game started, and then by the time I went backreading, everything I wanted to comment on had already been commented on. I had nowhere to place my footing and basically was forced to determine who I thought was a towny player and who I thought was wolfy, and pick a towny player casing a wolfy player to sheep them, because no matter what I do, I cannot give original takes at this point because I entered the thread so late.
Faking wolfreads is an entirely different matter from asking someone about their wolfreads. I personally ask people about their wolfreads when I’m a wolf, so I still fail to see your point as to why the question is towny.
Well, I guess you’ll find out that it is. I explained it already and I’m explaining it again - wolves have to coordinate in the thread because they have no chat, yes? But town also has to coordinate in the thread. If there is one wolf and one town, most likely the wolf will not offer to coordinate with the town member because it could go really wrong. A town member, however, can offer to coordinate with a wolf unknowingly, and then it looks weird for the wolf to decline it. But I would expect a sense of reluctance from the wolf slot in that case, because they’re basically being forced into coordinating for the sake of appearing towny, when they know they may very well get screwed over. So that’s why I said I think they have to be the same alignment to agree to coordinate so readily.
So what, you have no read on Scientist?
Actually I am not going to argue with that lol.
I don’t really think it’s necessarily a town slot (oh yes, more hedge!!!1!!1!). The thing is the way they’re playing is a very easy copout for a wolf to have an excuse to shoot a towncore member and go “oops my hero shot failed”, when it can very well just be a wolf purposely shooting a towncore member to get them out of the game.
As town, they are not making themselves clear or the purpose of their actions, and while refusing to cooperate with the rest of the team is NAI, they will have a lot to answer for and it doesn’t look like they’re considering the consequences as much as I would expect them to, if they were really thinking this through. And that’s what the problem is.
The other problem is that I already have three slots in my inner PoE and there are only three wolves
I don’t know what to make of Security so they aren’t any lower than my outer PoE right now.
also I kind of do want them to shoot somewhere because they have a chance of hitting a wolf and therefore a chance of being town, whereas the three in my inner PoE do not have vig shots and therefore are a completely different case.
You’re getting there. My concern with you mostly was that your ISO is mostly filled with either real-time interaction or one-liners, with little that actually helped me get a window into your mind.
That’s why I want to ISO you tomorrow so I can get a better sense of where you’re coming from.
Btw, this hasn’t been discussed yet but I’d prefer not to be blocked from eavesdropping tonight. I can already see that I’m the latest popular scumread player, but it does nothing to block me since I can only eavesdrop, and you should let me give my feedback tomorrow regardless of alignment. I’ll leave it up to you then to determine whether my feedback is correct or wrong, but at least give me a chance to gather some intel overnight, because if you decide that I must be lying and vote me out, you’ll have something to work with that I can leave behind.
the other questions asked by players in the thread at the time were bad by comparison so that one looked better.
why can’t they manipulate the villager’s actions, though? if i randed wolf here and a villager asked me to coordinate night actions with them, i would be happy to influence the outcome in my team’s favor.
at this point, i think the slot is =rand, therefore more likely town.
