Positivity Thread (To counteract the karmic imbalance caused by the Venting Thread)

Holding yourself on a higher pedestal is not a good trait to have.

I hold the ones I care about the most on that pedestal, personally.

I’d willingly die in their position.

Feel free to disagree with anything I say here.

Afterall, I’m a supporter of freedom of speech.
(what a surprise)

people nowadays care too much about things that don’t concern them, like sexuality

Why not

Can’t we all just forget identity politics and instead focus on actual issues like global warming

“actual issues”

there it is, the phrase that pays

Agreed.

Also another thing that bugs me.
note that I dont fit into either of these (I’m actually rather tall)
But the idea of having to classify people as “transgender people” or “little people” is concerning.

like, it’s done by the same people who oppose discrimination. Yet they classify them into different people.

We do have some transgenders (I dont mean any offenses if I said it in a not so nice way) on the forum but it’s much easier and more respectful to refer to them as just another human being.

just as an FYI “transgender” is an adjective not a noun : )

Well, lets say that air pollution is also a problem.

Almost every single HS student is wearing mask rn in school, lol.

You’d know more than me about it.

Still. I’d rather just prefer to refer to you as a girl.

I agree

Yeah that’s a good attitude to have I’m just letting you know

The way I see it is live and let live
If you’re gay be gay
If you’re straight be straight.

Lets focus on making sure the human race actually survives this century

That’s fair, but “actual issues” is a phrase often used to dismiss things the speaker wants to ignore

e.g. “Why are people talking about trans rights when we could focus on actual issues”

It trivialises legitimate societal problems simply because they’re not world-ending, and that’s not a good attitude to have.

Personally.

I wish to stay away from social issues.

Mainly because some opinions I have are controversial (I’m very close to the center with politics)
I would bring up my entire say about the military thing but then again…

The forums aren’t the place for a political argument.

Especially if I word them poorly they could be easily taken out of context

I stay away from online political discussions due to how toxic they can get.
