Pretender, Inquisitor, Sorcerer

I think this patch has done a lot to fix the most hated interaction in the history of ToL, Inquisitor and Sorcerer, as well as bring in more variety among Neuts and a good high-skill class in the form of the Pretender.

Sorcerer, now able to behave like a proper NK, can be balanced better and has its own niche, making it a strong NK. And Inquisitor doesn’t feel like an easy class anymore that doesn’t even need to try to win. It’s another fun niche that involves hunting down specific people.

And the Pretender is a great class to introduce to this meta, as this class is the living proof that you cannot trust all Royal candidates to be Blue Dragon from the start. There’s more reading how people behave.

If we don’t make threads about the good stuff and only the bad, it will seem like every patch is a waste, so let’s not do that.

Change pretender portrait it’s weird af

Pretender portrait is perfectly fine

(also we don’t have any control over that)

Okay yes of course but like

This has been said

A lot

Everybody that is giving constructive criticism has already said they really like this patch in general

And most patches in fact

If Boslof chooses to get salty over the feedback that isn’t positive while ignoring the positive, that’s on him. It in no way gives him license to lash out at those who are only trying to help.

:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Shhhhhhhhhhh

He probably spent a lot of time on this update and wants to see how it goes, you can’t blame him when from his perspective most of the criticism seems to be negative due to confirmation bias.

Yeah, but

I’m not saying to stop complimenting the good

I’m just not at all impressed that the core dev is breaking, like, all of i42’s community guidelines because people that really like and appreciate the update, and have said so, multiple times, have a few issues here and there.

It’s not a good look at all, and you can see how it might understandably end up ruffling feathers.

If some random forumer decides to be salty, whatever. If the main developer from the staff of the game is insulting others for reasons that are largely self-inflicted and poor at best, that’s not cool.

He isn’t really insulting people, just getting frustrated due to the amount of time he spent on this update I believe.

I think we could do this talk in a DM

Personally I find it hard not to read this as an insult.

You shouldn’t really have to tiptoe around giving constructive feedback tbh

Yeah, he’s probably pissed off and isn’t appreciating the criticism, give him some time.

I think he means this conversation now.

But if Boslof is ranting and locking threads publicly, I see no reason we need to try and hide displeasure at the fact.

Then leave feedback until you have a clearer head? Or don’t let yourself get caught up on only the things people want to be changed, and look at all of the good you’ve done elsewhere?

Because there should be absolutely zero reasoning behind needing to wait to make suggestions. They’re suggestions. If the underlying basis turns out to be false, great! If they end up having merit once the meta has settled, even better - now you have a free starting point for working towards a solution.

Nobody is using time from their day to suggest things for this game because they dislike Boslof, dislike the game, or don’t care. I just think he has a bad habit of assuming that is the case, despite the fact that the same people are giving loads of positive feedback too.

If we didn’t care about this game or appreciate the work that Boslof and the other Devs do, we wouldn’t give feedback is what you’re saying

which is all the more why we leave positive feedback too
