Bad balance is the absolute least problematic issue you can have.

I’m serious. A well balanced but boring ability is more problematic than a wacky but insanely fun ability.

This is because balance is ultimately just a matter of doing the math and making the numbers fit, so you take the fun ability and then tweak the numbers until it’s balanced.

But an unfun ability can’t be solved that way. You need to look into what makes it unfun and get at some specific core problem which can be hard to identify and fixing it usually requires a full on rework.

The CW is a great example of this.

Hardest to fix is the core gameplay loop

Easiest to fix is balance.

This is why you design something with a clear purpose, draw and experience first and THEN balance it after you have done so.

I agree with nuclear that something boring is more problematic ;p/

I don’t like it whens things like mercenary get reworked as-long though

That’s why I want to keep prince without completely removing it.

I think there’s ways of balancing things like old merc ect.

All I have seen recently is fixing graphics and stuff

They changed kings allies and mystic recently.

That’s like nothing though.

They are setting up a balance committee. So most major changes will have to wait for that

it is to the meta and game it’s pretty massive for small changes.
