I wish it was satire.
Guillo made clear they had no interest in the enjoyment of the players in their game and had a terrible attitude throughout the process. There had been a small handful of extremely minor modifications, mostly entirely handled/designed by Guillo themself. My direct input essentially amounted to 3-4 small to medium changes; most of the time (read: many hours over the course of a week plus) was spent either asking questions about how they intended the setup to work or arguing with them about āmaybe a 2 hour time frame isnāt enough time to give someone to submit an ability, especially considering time zonesā and āthereās a difference between designing something that has false information for chaos and designing something with false information for the hell of it with no mechanical or entertainment gain.ā
In the latter case, I had suggested they change a modifier on a minor part of one role to literally any other modifier than what it was. They at this point had become belligerent and declared in the midst of their tantrum that no further changes would happen to the setup. After some discussion with another reviewer, I came to the conclusion that I was letting the interesting elements of the setup provide cover for the hostās poor attitude and for an unenjoyable overall design.
On that grounds, I rejected the setup.
I probably would have passed it with that modifier change as interesting enough to see play had Guilloās ego not gotten in the way.

Lets face it. Guillotina is someone that for better or worse, you donāt forget after playing with him.
I still think there was a jokish element to what Guillo said considering he said ā10 years of mafia experienceā and ātwo decades of playing mafiaā or something of that sort.

He misinterpreted something I said about general game design. Iāve been playing mafia for about 4.5 years now.
