Because Town here rely far too much on mechanics

Improvement doesn’t come from hosting a game where social reading is borderline negative utility in comparison to mechanics

How are social reads negative in ToL?

Because using them is so much worse than just relying on mechanics

Because mechanics are that reliable

Frames and tailors. A Cop9 game has neither, so why do social reads in Cop9?

Because in cop 9, the cop is the only PR

Frames and Tailors are not nearly common enough to not rely on mechanics
Also you can find scum without investigatives using mechanics

Frames aren’t guaranteed claims and mech is still most reliable way

You can confirm half the classes by them existing

How so?

Do you remember investigative butler Amelia? LOL

Literally all you need to do is compare the claims and logs, and once you find an error you execute the scum

Course I do

People may be complaining about Back to Square One, but why not wait for a reviewer to give feedback?

Because you said it’s literally just ToL

A lot of us know what ToL is

Reviewers may change some of the mechanics.

I feel like straight up ToL is just

More likely to be denied

In ToL, many classes are extremely mech-confirmable, or extremely mech-confirmable with coordination (for instance, a CW can confirm themself with Intensify, but this requires the cooperation of an occupier or redirector).

While this is somewhat problematic in Throne of Lies, it becomes much more problematic when the same classes, with full feedback, are directly ported to the forums, due to the fact that 48-hour days allow for much more time to plan out such coordination attempts. This has historically held true in older variants of FoL, before feedback was reduced.

But this was back when townplay was actually good on this site.

Back in full feedback era townplay was horrible

Wolfplay was also horrible

to my knowledge anyway

No, this includes games very early in the site’s history when no one had any clue how the game worked. You can verify this by backreading early FoL games, e.g. FoL 1 – town didn’t win by being good, town won by confirming half the game with mechanics and finding errors in scum logs.
