I also need co-host for Deus Ex 20th Anniversary: Enemy Within 4 for handling class card distribution, day/night actions and vote counting

i have an idea but its probably a dumb idea

All the better

i hate that i want to cohost this because me and you were the mad scientists of M15er

but i also want to play it

aa

oh yeah dumb idea

people are probably gonna hate this but the queue is super long so what if we voted on what game was next

This is quite a conundrum

On the one hand, there are probably some players intent on only playing some games that they see in the queue down the line, due to format, flavour, or anything else.

On the other hand, this might anger designers who are already waiting at least a couple months to run their games. Insurgency as a game, from start to finish, took about 6 months to design and run, and that was unusually long for the time, due to my departure from here around new yearā€™s, scheduling conflicts during the design process, and other matters.

I would say that probably, every new game entered into the queue going forward will take longer than that in the current format.

I guess the most relevant questions to this issue are as follows:

  1. What percentage of our active player base is more or less willing to play anything if their WiM and availability is sufficient, and what percentage is only interested in some things they see in the queue and donā€™t really plan on playing in anything else?
  2. How would those who spent dozens or in some cases hundreds of hours designing setups feel if their waiting time before running their game could increase by some unspecified large amount, based on the court of public opinion? Like if insurgency had gotten pushed to the back of the queue after it was already at the front (increasing its wait time by months or more), due to it being really unpopular with the user base, I would have been pretty frustrated, i think.

Def a matter that should be considered but a touchy one for sure.

no

reason:
favoritism bad

Favoritism bad? I like bad! I like favoritism!
I vote: Yes!

ā€“but seriously though, there is nothing to do about the queue; you just have to wait for it ā€¦even if it will take half a year.

i think we shouldnā€™t schedule games once reviewed to be in the order they were submitted, and instead order them with intervals between large games

that seems fair to me?

i like that idea but switching the order around now would probably make people mad

ye
large game bloat blocks traffic

well
we havenā€™t ordered everything in the waiting to start category yet

fair

we can start here

iā€™m totally okay with delaying ToS2399
still super excited to host it though

immediately NewD3 should be moved forward
a 9p would be a nice change of pace
