I donāt disagree that itās not like the most ideal but I donāt think itās clearing.

IMO, it does. Unless a player flip flops with their votes, I view votes as āsomething you only give when you suspect someoneā with the exception of plays such as pressuring.
Derps is most likely dying to Arcticās passive anyway, especially if wolves have another darkvote adder, so this could be a bid for towncred.
