Iām rereading appās ISO and I think I get what Marl thinks is townie (specifically the way App expresses their reads, instead of the actual content) and I do think that the way Marl talks about it is pretty villagery on how they approached a read that goes against threadstate
I do think this is just a super cliche intermediate-wolf line though and I still think appās read content is wolfy
specifically, that line becomes a cliche because itās very likely a product of a wolf being unsure about what stances to take
not a villager trying to evaluate the reads that they have created
I thought that line from App was just NAI tbh
like either alignment could say it, and it basically accomplishes nothing
other than that, Iām a little concerned App was attempting to pocket me? but he kind of went back on that after reading my ISO without all the other posts in reply, so maybe not.
reading how he treated other slots so far, I agree with his Marl read although nothing is really a new take there. His take on Chloe is ~fine but doesnāt really stand out either way so far, except for the mindmeld claim, and I guess Iāll leave that for Chloe to discern. I think the only non-consensus reads I see from him so far are on Mist and me, but he explained both of those and it looks like he handled them ok (although idk about the redacted reason for TRing Mist, but I guess when the time comes, if the time comes, heāll probably elaborate). Anyway Iām gonna hold my read on him where it is till I get a better feel for his alignment.

at this point if youāre town youāre just going to confbias the hell out of your read if you read into a statement like that that much

Iām just saying this so if you are town, you can try to remain objective when evaluating me and donāt just tunnel. Like if you have legitimate criticism Iām happy to hear it, but donāt just go lol funny comment come from wolf or youāll never think clearly about it.

is one of those things Iāve seen multiple times before from wolves and almost none from villagers
I think it is because when players are forming reads as an intermediate wolf, theyāre usually looking at what type of stances they should make to advance their agenda
While villagers are forming reads, they have leans pre-created in their head, and theyāre trying to evaluate it instead of trying to decide what type of read to apply in a vacuum
The line āwhy dont wolves just show themselves this game is hardā comes from a person whoās unsure about what stances they can get away with taking in an entire-thread-pov more often than a person who has subconscious leans on players from reading the thread in a post-by-post-pov

but itās very much a thing I learned from experience and I definitely wouldnāt read into it if I didnāt have that experience with this line in particular
