Rulers (King/Queen)

Overview
This rework is designed to give a little change in direction in how the “Ruler” is played and provide more variety in game types. Here we have “Kings” and “Queens”. It’s decided randomly on start, and for the remainder of the game if the original ruler dies, the new elected ruler will remain the same type of ruler, so games starting with a King will not have Queens and vice versa.


KING GAME
The majority of the king skills remain the same with one slight change, in that the kings have a force vote similar to a noble. This allows the king to effectively have the same power, but also allows the possessor to remain undetected longer if they jump into the king instead of being elected.



QUEEN GAME
The aim was to be quite different from King gameplay. As kings use their guards everywhere to manage who can and can’t die, queens use their charisma and command to gather information and push their objective forward. All queens have a day skill that’s a cross between a Prince and a Mystic. They will be able to speak privately to a person of choice but not restrict them from going about their business. The “Bring Forth” ability is an exchange of the force vote of the kings, and may allow them to put someone on the stand AND “Decide” their fate. This would also be the first type of Ruler that an Evil can “out” to the other evils secretly and provide secret communication a limited number of times.

To align with the idea that a queen is going to be more about flow of information, the Psycho Queen variant has limited nightly kill abilities and will rely on manipulating information to confuse the court and have them turn on each other. While the ballot skill seems extreme, This can at most target a little more than half of the court. Doing it too soon will certainly out the Psycho Queen, but late enough it can be passed as simply a bloody night.

I think Poisoned Ballot is too powerful of an ability with a lot of killing power for just the one night.

Also, how would the Interrogation/Meeting interact with the Prince’s jail ability, which is a fairly identical concept?

Also all NK classes, including the King versions, have a consistent way of killing each night, having a limited-ability killing action would essentially ruin any incentive for the NK to step early, but the problem is that unless you’re Possessor, other classes will have been pretty much proven by that point and there’s little to no chance of being made Queen.

Thats what the passive is for. How would they know? You control their logs before they die. People can still visit them and they can still visit others.

I thought about prison interactions. I think the most reasonable is that the prince is not able to be affected, nor his jail target. Feedback something like "They had other business to attend to. " Prince unaffected would mean evil queens couldnt just use Bring Forth on prince and force exe out the gate.

Also poisoned ballot is more of a balncing thing, since 51% of the court at max can be affected, and it can be healed as a poison affect. But too many people dying from using this too early and it would immediately out the psycho queen. It would need to be timed just right. One use limits its strength. Sure psycho king can kill every night? but pretty much so can Psycho Queen. The idea is information control. Since Psycho rulers are so rare already, people will really have to pay attention to see when a log is changed on death as the Psycho Queen would br able to change their victims journal before she ends them, and is given the night to question them to gain more intel before she ends then. Its very much a more socially directed NK

Again, every class has a flaw. There cant be an absolute class or it would be OP. It would be silly to assume literally every queek is a psycho queen, how many Psycho Kings have you honestly encountered in current build, So few that almost no one checks for it already.

Im not saying this idea as presented is perfectly balanced as is but you really arent adding to the discussion by just trashing the ideas with little constructive feedback.

Evil kings and Psycho kings are outed already all the time because they have flaws. NKs going Ruler isnt supposed to be easy, its a very risky play that can have really good turnout if done right. As it is in live even now. For something that happens less than 3% of the time currently it should have something to stand out.

To the point, link the charges of the skill to carry over to new queen then. The later you wait the more feasable “no charges” becomes. Or just change the skills so that you can choose if they die or not.

You are literally misunderstanding my point. I’m telling you to get rid of something that can mechanically prove the queen as scum.

The second option of letting the charges carry over is fine but you are getting a little too worked up about this.

The thing with king and Queen is that they aren’t suppose to be mechanically proveable to be scum or GK. That’s why no investigative can check them. You are suppose to scumreads the king and or queen.

Chances are if you are elected as PK you worked hard and to be mechanically proved as scum is disappointing. If you really want “constructive feedback” here you go also you were sassy at me

This shouldn’t be able to target self as chances are if you are voted up you are already dead. Lynching scum is the blue dragons main way of getting rid of scum.

This is a little weak IMO and should provide conversion immunity.

IMO I would change this to a normal kill, as NK should have a way to kill each night or they are insanely terrible

But not Occupy immune?

The idea is good, but the psycho queen is way too overpowered.
