Can he keep Troll box? It’s only a 1 time use? I can like this
This is just not true. It will never be a good thing to be a scorned target, because it is one player’s sole mission to see you get executed. This is like arguing that the Inquisitor (who can now kill regardless of magic user), helps the Sorcerer, because he can kill BD’s.
Just because my suggestion has more far-reaching implications for the current game than what is suggested in the thread, does not mean that it is a worse suggestion.
You speak of “randomness”, but any action after n1 is not truly random and can be influenced by playing the game. The difference between this randomness affecting people not getting converted or scum not being discovered by investigatives is that their win objective depends on their entire faction. The Fool and Alchemist get for example tools to deal with n1 random kills, because they would lose the game if they’d die. This is accomplished through interesting tradeoff abilities in them in the form of Hide and Stoneskin. Why is it so awful to implement a similar idea for the Scorned? Now that I think about it, this would enable the “good scorned” strategy by bargaining with the court to protect your one target 3 times if they execute the other. This would make the Scorned a more true neutral, while still maintaining the integrity of the role.
After having thought about it, this would fit better though, but would be less thematic:
Night Ability - Not so fast: Give your target death immunity. Can only be used on Scorned’s targets. (3 uses)
Think about it as a Scorned wanting her targets to suffer and endure pain before they would finally be executed and publicly humiliated. The name could use work.
If we talk about overall impact on the game, this would enable claimspace for anyone with death immunity. Aside from backpedaling to an alchemist claim, you can retain your original claim. Simultaneously this would act as a frame for knight CS’es, good alchemist yolobombs. It would also remove the king from being the only role that can provide death immunity and polymorphic ability results are good for a social deduction game.
Frame doesn’t help with investigative results. 99% of the time they are accurate and are trusted and the remaining 1% chance it completely screws you over out of the blue.
In this case we need to make framing more common , or just remove it altogether.
And Fool is the last class that should have it.
