1.A neutral claim can be scum, and is usually some sort of scum.
2.A cop does not necessarily know if their target is Mafia, they can also be of the “town or not” variant who cannot discern neutrals from mafia.
3.A neutral with a survivor wincondition will not help the town when things go close, except maybe a 1v1v1. They are nearly the same as an actual scum in this case…

How is it not a power role? Investigating is important in a closed setup and with this variant, he can even confirm himself reasonably. There is a reason Sheriff in ToL is so unconfirmable and can be easily faked by a scorned or so. This has a power beyond that, so I feel like power role is not too misplaced.

Fair enough. I still view him as scum, but he can be lynched tmrw if we get nothing. Light sin trying to hammer that vote was Incredibly scummy, and i still have sus on Sarun and Boss aswell.
